This animation art piece is a wonderful 3 production cel set-up from Lady and the Tramp’s beloved Bella Notte scene. Lady and the Tramp was released in 1955, one month before the opening of Disneyland, and this original piece from the film was released by the studio to accompany the opening of the theme park. One cel is Lady looking adoringly at her sweetheart, one cel is Tramp (with the load of spaghetti in his mouth), and the third cel is the table with tablecloth, spaghetti and meatballs plate, the breadsticks and candle.
The matching oil painting background was specially created at Disney Studios by the Disney Art Props Department for this Lady and the Tramp cel using the original background layout drawing for inclusion in this remarkable set-up. It is in mint condition, and is in the original Disneyland Art Corner mat with the original Disneyland gold label certificate of authenticity on the reverse. A long time Disney employee who later helped open the Art Corner was given the privilege of purchasing this piece and was the source for this historically important, quite rare, and most iconic Disney image.
Here is another Lady and the Tramp animation art cel.
